Mrs. Robertine "Robbie" Morneault Hewitt

UNCASVILLE - Robertine J. Hewitt, 73, passed away on Thursday, at home surrounded by many of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in St. Agatha, Maine on October 2, 1938 to the late Catherine (Plourde) and Leo Morneault. On August 5, 1972, at the Uncasville Methodist Church, Robbie married the "love of her life" Bill Hewitt. Bill predeceased her on December 26, 2011; she is also predeceased by a sister, Vivian Egan.

Robbie taught third grade in the Montville school system-at the Palmer School for 28 years and Murphy School for three years. She was an artisan at knitting, crochecting and wood painting, sharing many of her creations with family and friends.

Robbie is survived by her brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Carl and Marie Hewitt; eleven siblings and their spouses: Adrien & Jeannine Morneault, Joel & Sylvia Morneault, Marcy & Peter Davis, Sylvia & Richard Faretta, Vincent & Karen Morneault, Phil & Sabra Morneault, George & Lorraine Morneault, Jim & Carol Morneault, Rosaire & Rita Morneault, Anita & Ron Hastings, Richard Morneault & Michael Geister, and a plethora of nieces & nephews & great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8:00pm on Sunday at Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tpke., Uncasville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 10am (meeting directly at church) at St. John's Catholic Church in Uncasville with burial immediately following at Union Cemetery.
