

She was born in North Hatfield, MA on August 21, 1911 to the late William F. and Gertrude (Thorpe) Tyler Sr. She graduated from high school and continued her career path to become a teacher receiving her bachelor’s degree in education. Ruth was married to William T. Drummond who predeceased her in 1974.
Ruth taught elementary education with her last school being in Montville at the time of her retirement. She loved to read and knit and was very patriotic. Ruth was a world traveler in the truest sense always looking forward to her next adventure. She made friends wherever she went and corresponded with them all over the world up until the time of her death.
Ruth is survived by her two sons; William T. Drummond Jr., and Wayne Drummond and his wife Maria, a daughter; Wendy Riddle, one sister; Grace McIntosh, several grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
