

Ruth Jacobowitz Lieber W. Haus May 30, 1927 - July 17, 2013 Plainfield - Ruth Jacobowitz Lieber Walsh Haus, 86, passed away on Wednesday July 17 at Colonial Health and Rehab in Plainfield, CT. Ruth was born on May 30, 1927 in New York, and was the only daughter and oldest child of the late Moris Jacobowitz and Sarah Stobel Jacobowitz. Ruth graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1944 and from the Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing as an RN in 1947. Ruth was the loving mother of five surviving children; Ellen Lieber Kendall (Jim), Leon Lieber, Linda Lieber Halverson (Greg), Dina (Lieber) Rosenthal (Arnold) and Patricia (Walsh) Pearson (David). She is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Howe, Timothy Kendall, Jeffrey Halverson, Lindsey Halverson, Dane Bradley, Gina Bradley, Christopher Pearson and Daniel Pearson; as well as great-grandsons John Howe, Matthew Howe, Lucas Kendall, Tanner Halverson, and baby-to-be Halverson. She was pre-deceased by her loving son, Joel Wayne Lieber in March, 2013. Also pre-deceasing her were her three brothers, Harold, Edward and Leonard. Ruth raised her young family with husband Jack Lieber in Montville. After his passing in 1970, she re-located to VA and remained there until 2009. Besides being a wonderful, loving mother and dedicated nurse, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and dancing. Ruth spent her last four years at Colonial Health and Rehab where she enjoyed all of the entertainment and activities they provided her, and made many lasting friendships She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mom's life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Griswold, 878 Voluntown Road (Route 138) in Griswold. Donations in her memory can be made to the charity of your choice . Burial will be in VA on Wed., August 7, 2013.
