

Sander M. Blinderman, December 12, 1940-July 23, 2023, passed away at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his family. Sander was born in Norwich to the late Rutherford and Sylvia (Golub) Blinderman. He was predeceased by his brother, Neil Blinderman.
Sander was a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy, class of 1958. He earned his degree in Business Administration from Mitchell College in 1961 and his MBA from the University of New Haven. For the next 40 years, Sander worked at Thames Printing Company where he served as President from 1964-2001. During that time, the company grew from less than 10 to more than 90 employees. In 1967 he was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserves.
Sander prided himself on giving back to his community. He spent countless hours coaching in the Norwich Little League and Church League Basketball. He loved cooking for the Norwich Rotary at the Rose Arts Festival Pancake Breakfast and serving as a board member of the Norwich Community Development Corporation. Sander was a proud lifetime member of Beth Jacob Synagogue.
In later years he played golf at Pautipaug CC, where he won the Presidents Cup, the 4 Ball Tournament with his son Jon and served on the Board for 15 years. For fun he enjoyed dining and playing blackjack at the Mohegan Sun Casino. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Giants, Celtics, Yankees and UCONN basketball teams. Sander will be fondly remembered for his quiet but kind hearted nature and incredible work ethic.
Sander is survived by his loving family, Jeffrey and Susan Blinderman, BJ and Steve Lee, Jennifer Blinderman and Jon and Raechel Blinderman. “Poppy” was adored by his five fabulous grandsons: Frankie, Max, Josh, Ross and Jake. Together they enjoyed sports, dining out and sharing life lessons.
A funeral service will be held at Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27th with burial to follow at Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #3. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Beth Jacob Synagogue, 400 New London Tpke. Norwich, CT 06360
