LISBON – Thomas “Tom” A. Perry, 70, died on Wednesday at Backus Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Norwich on Dec. 13, 1943 to the late Joseph A. and Frances I. (Vera) Perry. On January 18, 1963 he married his beloved wife Eloise (Williams) who survives him. Tom worked for 27 years as a supervisor at the former King Seeley Thermos in Norwich and then the Dept. of Corrections until his retirement.

Tom “Mighty Hawk” was a tribal member, Elder and Tribal Councilor of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation. He enjoyed manicuring his lawn and talking with everyone, but his greatest love was his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Eloise, his son Thomas Allan Perry, daughter Melissa Perry-Russell and her husband Akin, brothers; Joseph A. Perry Jr., and wife Sharron of Montville, and Peter F. Perry, and wife Barbara of South Windsor, one sister; Justine M. Miller of Norwich, his cousin Marvin C. Perry of Silver Spring, MD, who was more like a brother, grandson; Jaron Russell and several nieces, nephews and special cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at Noon at Madry Temple Church, 25 Manwaring St., New London with visitation from 11am until the time of service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
