

He was born April 5, 1927 in Norwich, the son of the late Nelson and Madeline (Petrone) Dixon. He married Kathleen (Delaney) September 19, 1949 at St. Mary’s Church in Greenville. She passed away January 31, 2010.
Bill worked as a salesman for over 25 years, working both in pharmaceutical and car sales.
He was a very talented trumpet player who played with the Dick Campo Orchestra. He loved golf and tennis, and was a member of the Pautipaug Country Club.
Bill is survived by his daughters Bo Dixon of Norwich and Linda Lunt and husband Danny of Bar Harbor, ME; by his grandchildren Ellen Sterry of Norwich and Kyle Spratt of Bar Harbor; sister in law Patricia Korenkiewicz of Norwich; three nephews and by his beloved dog, Orbit.
Bill’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the Backus Hospital E-3, E-4, Emergency Room and Care Management Departments for their compassionate care.
Calling hours will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home in Norwich on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 6th at Sacred Heart Church in Norwichtown at 10 am. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
