Norwich, CT – Xavier (Zay) Tyrone Jarmon, 40, passed away unexpectedly in his home on August 31st, 2018 in Jewett City, CT. He was born on November 26, 1977 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, CT to Patricia Knowles and Reginald Jarmon.

Xavier attended Norwich Free Academy and served in the United States Marine Corp from July 1, 1996 to September 2, 2000 where he was stationed at Okinawa Prefecture and Camp Lejeune bases. He was a member of the Veteran's Association. He married Shayna Elaine Jarmon on May 15, 2009 in Groton, CT.

Xavier worked as a cook and was known for his insatiable palate and passion for the culinary arts. He was an avid sports fan and fervently expressed his incessant loyalty to the Oakland Raiders and the New York Yankees. "Zay," (also referred to as Tyrone by his family) was known for his unmistakable smile and mnemonic knack for calculating numbers. He had future aspirations on becoming the family accountant.

Xavier is survived by his spouse, Shayna Elaine Jarmon of Jewett City, CT; his two sons, Dominic and Michael Jarmon of Norwich, CT; three stepchildren, Dalton Metcalf, Alana Niedjadlo and Benjamin Niedjadlo of Jewett City; his parents, Patricia Knowles and Reginald Jarmon both of Norwich, CT; his stepmother, Leona Jarmon of Norwich, CT; his grandmother, LaForest Knowles Oates of Norwich, CT; His brother, Ray Thompson of Norwich, CT; as well as a plethora of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loyal cat "Ting-Ting."

Xavier was predeceased by his brother, Roy Thompson; Grandmother, Macie Jarmon; Grandfathers, Harvey Eugene Knowles, Sr. and Walter "Dallas" Montgomery; Great-Grandmother, Martha Montgomery and Uncles, Michael Knowles and Ralph Jarmon.

Services will be held on Monday September 10, 2018 at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. Calling hours are scheduled from 9-11am, followed by memorial service from 11am-12pm.
