

Archie was born in Guilford on June 6, 1915 the son of Thomas and Jessie Bradley Hubbard. He grew up in Guilford and attended the Bainbridge school.
A resident of the Guilford area all of his life, Archie could be considered a “Jack of all trades” . He operated his own garage with a wrecker service, operated a sanitary disposal service, was the operator of many kinds of construction equipment, was also known for his welding abilities, and built and welded many pieces of equipment for Dexheimers’s.
Archie’s true passion was history, not only for Guilford but the whole Chenango County area. He was creator of the Eastern Fayette Guilford Museum and was keenly interested in the Chenango County Historical Society Museum.
On Jan. 29, 1990 he married Sally Clark who survives.
Besides his wife Sally of Norwich, Archie is survived by his children; David Hubbard of Guilford, Joyce (Paul) Keller of Hickory, NC, Robert (Darlene) Hubbard of Greene, Phyllis (Mike) Winn of Bainbridge, Helen Hubbard of Lexington, KY, Doris (Allen) Leatherman of Newton, NC, Nancy (Dale) Fannin of Plant City, FL, Anne (David) Butcher also of Plant City, FL, Sally (John) Cawthron of Winter Haven, FL, and Sally’s children Cynthia (Jim) Waters of Margaretville, NY, David Reid of Bainbridge, Melody Gagon of Norwich and Lisa (Jim) Cinquanti of Cortland. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Archie was predeceased by his previous wives Laura Westcott Hubbard and Ruth Joslyn Ballard, his son Francis Hubbard who passed on the same day as Archie, a daughter & son-in-law Mary and Barry Williams, Sally’s son Robert Reid, a brother Theodore Hubbard and daughter - in- law Shirley Hubbard.
Friends may call at the Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich on Sat., Dec. 28, from 2-4 pm followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm. The Rev. Brian Conover, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Sunset Hill Cemetery of Guilford.
