Beverly A. Kuhn

Beverly Ann Kuhn, 80, of Norwich passed away November 13, 2020 peacefully at home with her family at her side. Bev was born on February 15, 1940 in Norwalk, Conn. The daughter of Fred and Dorothy (Young) Magrath and was a graduate of the Oxford School. On August 10, 1957 in Oxford she married Uwe Kuhn. Bev’s first employment was with the Norwich Shoe Company. She later went on to be a school bus driver for 27 years for the Norwich School District. Bev was a farm girl at heart. She loved her animals, especially her dogs. She enjoyed watching her hummingbirds at her window, loved her flowers especially marigolds, hens and chickens. During the winter months Bev and Uwe loved to travel to Florida in their motorhome. Bev was one not to sit still and had many interests. She was one of the top female bowlers in the Norwich area, enjoyed driving stock cars for women in Morris, driving in the Powder Puff races. Bev was a member of the Norwich Fire Dept. for several years as an EMT for the Norwich Emergency Squad. She was an avid Motorcyclist, a member of the U.S. Motor Maid’s motorcycle club, enjoyed riding her BMW, and for 20+ years traveled, and supported sons Rick and Terry racing moto-x all over the east coast. She always had a bucket and rag in her hands at the racetrack, cleaning helmets, goggles and making sure everything was perfect. Above all she was a wife and mother who supported all her children in their endeavors and would give anyone the shirt off her back. Bev is survived by her husband and soulmate of 63 years Uwe Kuhn of Norwich, her children Capt. Timothy (Alice) Kuhn of Norwich, Robert (Carol) Kuhn of Oxford, Cindy (Scott) Grover of East Pharsalia, Ricky Kuhn of Preston and Terry (Johanna) Kuhn of Norwich, special daughter-in-law Shelly Kuhn, 9 grandchildren Timmy II, Anna, Alison, Ashley, Ryan, Melinda, Broc, Stephen, Carin Kuhn, and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers John Magrath and Melvin (Lori) Magrath. Nieces and nephews also survive. Bev was predeceased by her parents, brother Freddie Magrath and sister Priscilla Horstman. At Bev’s request there will be no formal funeral services or calling hours.
