Brent was born in Norwich and attended South New Berlin Central School graduating in the class of 1985. Upon graduation, Brent remained in the Norwich area spending most of his career working for Reese Marshall, with other employers including Nearing Dodge, Town of Norwich Highway Department, and most recently Unison Industries. Brent enjoyed all aspects of life and accumulated countless friends everywhere he went. He was an avid NASCAR fan, hunter, fisher, camper, boater, traveler, and entertainer. His true passion was using his culinary skills with his air fryers, grills, smokers and his favorite, the Yeti cooler, to host and entertain his family and friends. Brent was a very involved member & friend of the Norwich American Legion Post 189. Brent will forever be known for his love for his family, spontaneity, ability to live for today, and uncanny ability to entertain those around him.
Born September 17, 1966, Brent was the youngest son of Ralph & Barbara (Jones) Bush of Norwich, surviving. In addition to his parents, Brent is survived by his soulmate & fiancé Michelle Cole of Norwich and her daughters Brittani & Carolyn, his son Jared Bush of Oxford, his daughter Haiden Fairbanks, of Plymouth; four grandchildren, and pug Trixie, who was his pride and joy. Also surviving are Brent’s siblings: Brian and Judy Bush, of Texas; Wayde Bush, of Altamont; Karlene Russ Foster, of Norwich; and Darlene Scott Gramstad, of Norwich; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister in law, Monica Bush.
A memorial service for Brent will take place at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 11, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service. A celebration of Brent’s life will take place at the American Legion Post 189, 29 Sheldon St. Norwich immediately following the services. . In lieu of flowers, donations in Brent’s memory may be made to American Legion Post 189.
