Bridget Provo 59, passed away in her home the morning of November 15th, 2022, despite the efforts of her son and the emergency crew. Our mom was a fighter to say the least! She dealt with polycystic kidney disease for the longest time. The doctors and nurses on the dialysis team all became her second family and we are eternally grateful for everything they have done for her and our family. She survived her father (David Gale) who passed when she was just 7 years old of the same disease. She also survived her mom (Edith Jackson) who passed in 1987, her older brother (Michael Gale) is unfortunately no longer with us either (He also carried the same disease as well and passed in 2006). Our mother and Rick Mayne gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on September 25, 1985, Cory James Mayne only blessed this world for seven days before God called him home. She barely survived her best friend Mervin Predmore who passed November 1st, 2014. She was predeceased by her beautiful Aunt Nikki as well. She left behind her loving husband and soulmate James Provo (he was the real hero) he took care of and spoiled her for years and years. Her sister, Shannon Cruikshank. (They truly held each other up, they were each other’s safe space) Bridget’s oldest daughter Nycole Predmore (Jason Mills), Tabitha Eccleston (Dallas Eccleston) and her baby boy, her miracle baby, Shawn Mayne. She regretfully leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Johnathan Predmore (Mechia Murphy), Zach Lowe (Chloe Winton), Dawson Cashman, Payton Eccleston, and Camden Mayne. She absolutely adored her amazing extended family and the most wonderful friends she has had the pleasure of meeting along the way.
Our mom grew up incredibly fast, while working for the family business, she also raised her baby sister at the same time. Growing up our mom would make dinner every night… we would sit around the table and catch up on our day. We would walk to the park as a family, we knew it was officially that time of year when the lighting of the tree in McDonough came around. She always made Christmas magical…. Always! Christmas EVE was her holiday! This time of year was very special to her. She loved to decorate early with an antique Santa collection, snowmen, and real pine wreaths with a scent that would hit you in the face as soon as you walked in. Year after year she couldn’t wait for the beautiful snow to start falling. We would all look forward to our family Christmas party where she always prepared way too much food, we would laugh until our bellies hurt from eating way too much… even though Christmas time was her favorite, she always welcomed the warmth of the sun with open arms. Jim and our mom got married on the 4th of July. I suppose it always felt like a big celebration in Heaven for everyone we have lost over the years. After the wedding we watched the fireworks that night, just like every other year, but I’m pretty sure our Mom and Jim were making some of their own.
Her in laws were always such a blessing in her life. They have held her and Jim up for years, Thank you Fran & Joanne Provo. Mike & Terry Provo, John & Sharon Provo, Valerie & Terry and Marty & Becky Provo too… we will be eternally indebted to you, we could never repay you for all of your kindness. Bridget is not a woman anyone forgets. In the words or her first grandbaby “Gramma Provo, I love you” we all do Mom. Forever!
