Bruce W. Coon Sr.

2021. He was born July 15, 1947 in Sidney, NY, the son of Richard and Florence ( Heath) Coon.

Bruce graduated from Mount Upton Central School class of 1968. Following graduation he

served in the U.S. Navy on the USS C.V. Ricketts until 1972. He retired from Amphenol where

he was employed as a molder for 39 years.

Bruce is survived by his wife of nine years, Donna Coon (Wright), His son Bruce Coon Jr. of

Gilbertsville, NY and his sister Barbara Warren (Paul) of Rapid City, South Dakota plus

numerous other caring relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and son Brad Coon.

He loved being outdoors and engaged in many outdoor activities throughout his years

including trapping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, biking, and hiking. Bruce was a member of

American Legion Post 1339 Gilbertsville, The Bullthistle Hiking Club, The Triple Cities Hiking

Club, The Finger Lakes Trail Conference, The Adirondack Mountain Club, and the The Catskill

3500 Club. He was a Finger Lakes Trail End to Ender, completing the 580 plus miles of trail with

his wife, twice.

There will be a celebration of life activity later this summer.
