Byron H. Parry

Byron H. Parry, 68, of Sherburne, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born in Norwich on November 26, 1957 and graduated from Sherburne Central School in 1976 where he played sports such as football and baseball.

While growing up, Byron helped out on the family farm with his Parents Roger and Barbara Parry. After graduation, Byron went on and made his living working at Cianbro Construction, of Pittsfield, Maine building steel bridges, across the NE portion of the Country. Upon his return to New York, Byron operated a veal farm in West Winfield until his retirement. In his spare time, enjoyed spending time at the family camp, water and downhill skiing and loved watching sports on TV, especially the NY Giants and NY Mets. He enjoyed watching his son Amos play basketball throughout his high school career and Gus Macker. Byron also enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren as well as watching his nephews grow up playing sports. He will be remembered as a kind and giving man. As a member of the Smyrna United Methodist Church, Byron was always willing to assist with the food pantry and Election Day dinners.

Byron leaves behind two sons, Marshall Parry and Amos (Trisstann) Parry; his grandchildren, Nate (Kali) Parry, Natalie Parry, Luann Parry, Blairre Parry, and Riley Parry; his siblings, Gerald (Deb) Parry Sr., Douglas (Elaine) Parry, and Brenda (Matt) Beckwith; as well as friends Tish Parry and Stephanie Lewis and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Roger and Barbara Parry; and his grandparents, Harold and Lillian Parry, and Hugh and Alta Elliott.

The family will receive friends at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00 PM. A memorial service will take place immediately following the calling hours. Byron will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherburne, following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Byron's memory may be made to Sherburne West Hill Cemetery PO Box 523 Sherburne, NY 13460.
