On the early morning of September 3rd, 2016 Christopher passed away unexpectedly from several injuries sustained as a passenger in a motor vehicle accident in the town of Morris, NY. He was 22 years old. Christopher was born on September 24th, 1993 in Concord, NH. He is survived by his father Christopher Neal Brissette Sr, mother Susan Parrella-Brissette, older sister Camille Murdough, younger siblings Daniel, Madelyn, and Neal Brissette, and his niece Allyson Hanlon whom he called Elsa in his funniest voice. Jeremy Hamilton and Alex Tubolino were also considered brothers to him. Christopher also left behind countless loving aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and friends who enjoyed nothing more than his company and unique behavior. He is preceded in death by Uncle Bert Johnson, Pepe Neal Brissette, Uncle and Godfather Jimmy Parrella, and close companion and pet Dillon. He was raised in Antrim, NH where he attended school until the ninth grade, making long-lasting friendships along the way. He graduated from Norwich High School after he moved to Norwich NY with his immediate family for a new adventure. After High School he attended Alfred State College and graduated in 2015 with a degree as automotive technician and diesel mechanic, something he lived for. He recently began working for the Brightman’s with his brother Dan, loving every minute of it.
As a child, Christopher was always making everybody smile. He had the curliest head of hair and sweetest demeanor. Growing up, he attended Sunday school and was taught the principles of Christianity throughout his life, all of which he carried with him. Each year for Christmas he would make a point to be the first to find the baby Jesus his mother hid for him and his siblings. He achieved a yellow belt in karate and felt it necessary to practice his moves throughout the hallway of his childhood home. He became a cup stacking champion within the Antrim, NH school district and excelled in football, both NH pop warner and Norwich, NY Cyclones. He would play “Horse” and “around the world” with a basketball, nailing most of his shots. He would trade and admire holographic Pokémon cards with his sister Camille and cousin Patrick. He would proudly take his large case of hot wheels’ cars and carefully select the ones he wanted to race down his orange loop de loop track. He was a competitive Madden player on his PlayStation and showed this by throwing the controller into the living room Rent-A-Center TV while playing with cousin Doug Trow. Once in a while he would play PlayStation 2, making Tony Hawk land a double backflip, or watch Balto or The Land Before Time, or listen to Sesame Street’s “On My Pond,” but mostly he loved to work on forts outside and ride his bike down the monster tar hill in his hometown. He enjoyed taking his snowboard off jumps at Crotched Mountain in NH with his brother Dan and countless cousins. He also secretly loved when his brother Neal would want to tag along with him almost everywhere, similarly to when he would do the same with his dad. He loved when his sister Madelyn would make his pizza just right or when she would jump off the dock into the pond in Sherburne, NY. He loved when “Ma” made her famous sauce and when she would put together pork chops and applesauce for dinner. He also found out the hard way that his brother Dan is made of steel, with an injury to prove it.
Most of all, he enjoyed riding and fixing up wheelers, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and anything else he could get his hands on. The permanent stain of grease on his hands truly showed how hardworking he was and how dedicated he was to being a mechanic. He was able to do what he loved on a daily basis and lived life on his own terms.
On February 18th, 2016 everything changed for Christopher, his broken heart never able to heal from the pain he had to deal with regarding a breakup. He began to distance himself from his family in a way no one could understand and he began to engage in reckless behavior alone and with friends that ultimately lead up to his death.
No matter the situation, Christopher would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He saw the good in those deemed lost and forgotten and brought out the best in them. He truly was a beacon of light for everyone around him and although his body has left this earth, his heart and soul will continue to live on in those who knew and loved him dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Christopher will be held on Friday, September 9, at 11:00 am from St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church of Sherburne. The Rev. Lester Smith, Pastor will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
