Cindy L. Reihl

Born on April 28, 1957, in Norwich, New York, Cindy was the daughter of Charles and Ida Mae (Handy) Reihl. She will be remembered for her kind heart, caring nature, and the many friendships and memories she shared throughout her life.

Cindy graduated from Norwich High School in 1975. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication, holding positions at the Norwich Shoe Factory, Victory Markets, Sweet Thoughts Bakery, and the New York State Veterans' Home in Oxford. She took pride in her work and was known for being dependable, compassionate, and always willing to help others.

Cindy found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. If you stopped by Cindy’s, there was a good chance she'd have a homemade sweet treat to share. She loved baking and treasured every moment spent with her granddaughter, Ryker, who brought so much happiness to her life.

An avid reader, Cindy was a devoted fan of James Patterson. In their earlier years, she and Jackie enjoyed taking motorcycle rides together. Later in life, they were rarely home, often spending their days running errands, grabbing a meal at one of their favorite local restaurants, and visiting family and friends.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Desiree Strobel and her husband, Robert, of Earlville, NY; her beloved granddaughter, Ryker Fuller, of Long Island, NY; her partner, Jackie Dewey, of North Norwich, NY; her brother Charles Reihl Jr., of Cold Brook, NY; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Cindy will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she had for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Whitney House, next to Columbus Community Church, in Columbus, NY. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and celebrating Cindy's life. Those who wish are welcome to bring a dish to pass.
