Dennis grew up in Norwich then traveled the country as a young adult. He then worked in maintenance and construction. When he became a father, he built his homestead in Mount Upton.
Dennis was a beloved father and grandfather. He loved his family. He also enjoyed the peace of nature on his land; an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, cross country skiing, hiking.
Dennis was predeceased by his father, Cecil Degear, and sister, Deborah Degear.
Dennis was survived by his mother Wanda Degear, daughter Virginia Wellman, and grandson Henry Wellman. He was survived by many others: aunts, uncles, cousins, and niece.
A Memorial service will be held on 7/31/21 1:00-4:00pm at the Beach Pavilion at Gilbert Lake State Park, Laurens, NY. There is a $7 fee to enter the park.
