Edwin H. Dunn, 68, of Norwich passed away on Thursday, April 19 at the New York State Veteran’s Home. He was born in Norwich to Pauline and Edwin H. Dunn, Jr. who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his brother, James H. Dunn, his daughter, Stacy Dunn, his step-grandson, Edward McKinley III, as well as wife of over 40 years, Dayton who was the one true love of his life. Survivors include his son Christopher L. Dunn and Pamela McKinley; his grandbabies, Heath Dunn, PFC Austin Dunn, Mason Dunn, Payton McKinley, Claire Dunn, and Teagan Dunn; his nieces, Jamey and Lex Supensky and their family, and Alana and Brian Burlew and their family, as well as many extended family members and friends. Edwin proudly served his country during the Vietnam War aboard the Destroyer Escort USS Hyman as a Gunners Mate First Class. He was a member of American Legion Post 189 in Norwich, and the Norwich Elks Lodge. He enjoyed NASCAR races and treasured time spent with family and friends. Edwin’s family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at the New York State Veteran’s Home for the kindness and care he received there, to all of his friends that came to visit him and the new friends he made staying there. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday April 28, at North Norwich Cemetery.
