

Forrest E. Sayles, 52, of McDonough, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 25, 2021. He was predeceased by his father, Ronald P. Sayles, Jr.; and his grandparents, Ronald P. and Jessie (Whaley) Sayles, Sr., and Harry and Minnie (Locke) Bartholomew. Survivors include his loving companion, Heather Mead; his children, Leeanna Sayles, Chyanne Sayles, and Shaelynne Sayles; his grandchildren, Arianna Arasim, and Cameron Rippe; his mother, Gladys Sayles; his brothers and sisters, Timothy Sayles, Theodore Sayles, Jessica Sayles, Yolanda Sayles, Zachary Sayles, Justin and Cheryl Sayles, Loretta and Brian Gregory, and Veronica and Douglas Vail; many nieces and nephews including his very special neice, Darlene Sayles; as well as his many good friends, especially Jeff and Sandy McDermott.
Forrest was a 1988 graduate of DeRuyter Central School and furthered his education at DTI Technical School in Springfield, CT where he obtained many certifications in diesel engine repair. He used his skills for 33 years working at J&J Motorsports which later became Mobile Life Transport in Sherburne. Forrest enjoyed John Deere tractors, snowmobiles, dirt bikes and race cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a friendly, hardworking man who loved to have a good time whenever possible. Four years ago, Forrest dedicated his life to Jesus and became well known as a faithful servant of God and he regularly attended services at Chenango Christian Church.
Funeral services for Forrest will take place at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 1, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich, with Pastor Brad Keator officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
