Frances C. Beckwith

Franny was born on November 14, 1945 in Norwich the daughter of James and Evelyn (Wilson) Rounds. She grew up in the Norwich area and was a 1964 graduate of the Norwich High School. Over the years she had worked for the Norwich Shoe Co., the Corset Factory in Oxford, TACO of Sherburne, and the Norwich Knitting Mill. In 1991 she gained employment with Chenango Memorial Hospital where she worked as a Pharmacist Technician until her retirement. For a brief period of time she worked at the Dollar General which she truly enjoyed. She also volunteered at the Pink Door.

Franny enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her family and always seemed to have a smile on her face. In her quiet time she enjoyed reading a good book. On February 17, 1990 she married George Beckwith who passed away September 24, 2003.

Franny is survived by her children Jeannette Williams and significant other Wayne Slate of So. Plymouth, Jacqueline (Richard) Squires of Norwich and Jamie (Hope) Williams of Hartfield, VA, her siblings Charles (Helen) Rounds of Oneida, Roberta Shedd of Smyrna, Pearl Buckle of Ormond Beach, FL, Lucy Lake of Sherburne, Robert (Eleanor) Rounds of So. Plymouth, Garry (June) Rounds of Cincinnatus, Carol Jensen of No. Norwich, Steve Rounds of McDonough, Bonnie Loughren of Oxford, Ben (Molly) Rounds of No. Norwich and Diane (David) Dunckel of No. Norwich and Preston. Also surviving are her grandchildren Jonathan, Justin, Corey and Colada Williams, Heather Diamond, Nichole Wakefield, and Matthew and Michael Squires. Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Franny was predeceased by her parents Jim and Evelyn Rounds, brother Jessie (Bill) Rounds, sister Rhoda Parks and grandchildren Loretta Lyn, James Michael and Robert Lee Ashton.

A funeral service for Franny will be held on Saturday, July 6, at 11 am from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Hills will officiate. Interment will follow in the South Plymouth Cemetery.

Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 pm.
