Born in Norwich in Feb. of 1923, Bob was the son of Franklin and Blanche Brisse Beardsley. He grew up in Norwich, was a Norwich High School graduate, and worked for many years for the Bennett-Ireland Company. His last employment was working as a custodian at the Chenango County Office Building, from which he retired. Bob's true passion in life was working with wood. A member of the First Baptist Church of Norwich, Bob was the oldest and longest member of the church. In 1957, Bob married Margaret Ropes.
Bob is survived by his step-children: Barb George of Binghamton, Betty Chase of Newark Valley, and John Hoag of Box Elder, SD; by nieces and nephews: Cyndy Beardsley of Wheat Ridge, CO, Robert Beardsley of Boulder, CO, Sharon Oser of Phoenix, AZ, Mary Beth Finkaus of CA, and Raymond Doing and wife Rena of South Plymouth. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, in 1975; by his sister, Evelyn Doing; and his brothers, James and Richard Beardsley.
