
George Edward Lindridge Jr., 77 of Norwich passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. He was born in Norwich on January 9, 1943 the son of George E. and Diana (Zukauskas) Lindridge Sr.
George was a loving dad to Scott (Tina) Lindridge of Preston,NY and Stephen (Shannon) Lindridge of Newark Valley, NY. George especially loved his lifelong partner Linda Munro. George is also survived by his mother Diana (Zukauskas) Gibson, his sister Debbie (John) Post and their three sons Chris and his girlfriend Cheyenne Hite, Jeff and his fiancée Melissa Grant, Craig and wife Sierra Post, his brother Robert and wife Sharon, nephew Todd and wife Jennifer Lindridge, niece Brooke and her husband Tim Weidow. George is also survived by Linda’s children Stephen and Justin Munro. He is also survived by nine grandchildren Isaac and Oren Lindridge, Megan, Josh, and Isaiah Lindridge, Ayralynn, Chelsea, Fynn, and Stephen Munro Jr. as well as many great nieces and nephews.
George enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and playing basketball all of which he excelled at. He had a passion for being outside, no matter the weather enjoying water sports in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. George also spent many seasons coaching basketball and baseball in the Oxford Youth Sports Program, sharing what he knew about the game and life lessons of hard work and dedication that drives success both on and off the sports arena. George’s love of sports lead to a deep friendship with Fred and Carol Diamond of Oxford, NY who he and Linda traveled the state with watching various sporting events. George, Linda, Fred and Carol went to the NYS Boys Basketball Championship in Glens Falls for decades an event that he looked forward to every year.
George is predeceased by his father George Edward Lindridge, Sr., Uncle Joseph and his wife Lois (Wackford) Zukauskas, and Uncle Vetout Zukauskas, his grandparents Alfred G. and Minnie (Entrott) Lindridge and Joseph and Helen (Bendoraitis) Zukauskas.
Private funeral services for George were held with burial in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
