Isabel was born in Utica at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital on September 26, 1923 the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Day) Myers. She was a graduate of St. Paul’s School and a member of the 1943 graduating class of the Norwich High School. In her early working career she was first employed by the Norwich Knitting Mill and then worked for J.C. Penny. She then gained employment with the Norwich Pharmacal Co. where she was employed for 26 years and was also a member or the Quarter Century Club. In 1944 she married Harold Breed who passed away in 1968. In 1970 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church she married Raymond Call who passed away in 2012.
Isabel enjoyed her free time. She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of as well as Past President of the Broken Squares. She was a 51 years member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 367 as well as a member of the Sherburne Chapter 631. Isabel was Past Matron 6 times and Past District Deputy Grand Matron in 1980. A lifelong member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church she was a greeter and had helped on the church’s funeral luncheons. She had also volunteered at the Northeast Classic Car Museum and helped out at Blood Mobiles.
Isabel’s hobbies included gardening, raising flowers, camping, boating, traveling, sewing, baking and crafts. She had also spent several winters in Florida and was a member of the former Chenango Lake Boat Club.
Isabel is survived by her brother Oswald Myers, grandchildren Heather (Terry) Tehan of No. Brookfield, Aaron (Michelle) Windsor of Groton, Ellen (Jason) Holtzman of FL, Arthur (Debbie) Windsor of FL, David (Ashley) Breed of NY, and Michael (Nikki) Breed of PA, her great grandchildren Jamie Holtzman, Jacob Holtzman, Madeline Breed, Andrew Breed, Jonathan Windsor Hannah Isabel Windsor and one soon to be great grandchild. Also surviving is her son-in-law Donald Windsor of Norwich, sister-in-law Jean Myers, daughter-in-law Kathy Breed along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husbands Harold and Raymond, Isabel was predeceased by her children Diane Windsor and David Breed, her brothers Charles and John Myers and sister-in-law Beany Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Isabel will be held on Tuesday, August 3, at 11:00 am from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 pm.
On Monday evening the Trinity Chapter of Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
