Kathy was a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, friend and most recently with much joy and love in her heart…she became a grandmother (Grandma Lovey) to Mileena Josephine Frias…a much anticipated role that would surely help heal her heart. Her gentle spirit and quirky sense of humor will be deeply missed. Kathy was fiercely independent with a beautiful, free spirit.

Also survived by former husband Michael Armitage. She leaves behind her two favorite furry family members; Napa and Lacey.

Kathy was predeceased by her beautiful daughter Andrea Lynne Armitage, her parents June Tuttle and William Horton Sr., brother William Horton Jr., grandparents Kenneth and Mary Whaley and Paul and Grace Horton.

Kathy’s family would like to thank Kathy’s kind and loving neighbors; Wes and Kristen Mills and sons for their years of loving support, friendship and compassion, her Golden Artist family for the joy they brought to her life and the many devoted friends she had there, the Norwich Police Department and the Norwich Emergency Squad.

So few memories,,, I have never seen you without a smile on your angel face. Life and its appointments kept us apart. You have your wings, fly on my shoulders on the Harley. Love you cousin

So many memories came flooding in when we heard about Kathy‘s passing. Christmas gatherings, clambakes, family reunions. The Horton children and the last seven Hicks children were quite close in age, plus we didn’t live that far from each other - so the opportunities to be together were plentiful. It feels like yesterday. Growing into adults and for the most part settling in the same area resulted in our paths frequently crossing. Whenever Kathy saw us she would greet us with a warm “Hey Cuz!” and an even warmer, genuine hug. The kind of hug that most people will hold back from. But when Kathy hugged you felt her love. I know right now she’s holding her precious Andrea close. Her dad is telling silly jokes and her mom is by her side along with her brother Billy. She is a beautiful soul and we will all miss her - her smile, her laugh, her beautiful face, and yes - her hugs.

My deepest condolences. We knew Kathy through Golden as a distributor partner. Kathy was our main contact for many years. We shared photos of our grandchildren and I know how much she loved Mileena. Our hearts are broken. Words cannot describe our grief for her. We will miss her dearly. God bless xx

I will always cherish the summers I babysat for Kathy, Kelley, Billy and Patrick. All of them were such a joy and delight. Then along came Kimberly and Danny. I loved my Uncle Billy and Aunt June. As the years go by, we have so many loved ones that have gone to Heaven before us. It will be a glorious time when we all re-unite in Heaven.
