

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Ruth Root; and her step-brother, David Cox. Laurie leaves behind cherished memories for her surviving family members: her sister, Kim Lewis; her brother, Paul Root; as well as many nieces and nephews. Laurie's impact extended far beyond her family circle, as she was known throughout her community as a kind-hearted soul dedicated to serving others.
Laurie lived her life guided by the principles of compassion and empathy. Her devotion to helping those in need touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness and generosity. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her, offering support and comfort with a gentle smile and a listening ear.
A firm believer in the teachings of the Bible, Laurie found solace and strength in her faith. She was a devoted attendee of the Bible Baptist Church on Birdsall St., where she found fellowship and spiritual nourishment. Her commitment to her faith inspired those around her and served as a source of guidance in both joyous and challenging times.
In addition to her dedication to her faith and community, Laurie found joy in exploring the beauty of nature. She had a passion for hiking the trails of the Finger Lakes, finding peace and tranquility in the midst of nature's splendor. Her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors brought her closer to the wonders of creation and enriched her life with unforgettable experiences.
As we bid farewell to Laurie, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, surrounded by the love of her Heavenly Father.
