Lewis K. Crandall

Lewis K. Crandall, 88, of Lake Panasoffkee, FL and formerly of the Norwich area went to be with his savior on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at the Cornerstone Hospice at the Orlando Regional Medical Center. Lewis was a Christian, born in Preston, NY on September 26, 1931 the son of Kenneth and Marion (Salisbury) Crandall Benedict. He attended his early years in a one room school house at Stewart’s Corners in So. Plymouth, Daniels School in Preston, Plymouth and graduated from the Sherburne Central School in 1949. Lewis was a member of the band, choir, track, football team and also played in the Chenango County 4-H band as well as the Smyrna Adult Citizens Band. He was also very active in 4-H and FFA. Lewis had been a member of the Plymouth Fire Dept. where he had held several offices, a Seventh Degree member of the Plymouth Grange and a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church. He was also a member and officer of the Broken Squares Dance Club and a charter member and officer of the Bullthistle Camping Club as he loved to square dance and camp. He and his wife would be out camping every weekend with friends during the summer months all over New York State and most of the Eastern United States. Lewis had worked for Norwich-Eaton Pharmacal Co. for 21 years before moving to Kissimmee, FL in July of 1983. While there he worked at Walt Disney World for 20 years holding various positions before retiring and in 1994 moved to Lake Panasoffkee, FL. On April 4, 1953, Lewis married the love of his life Lois Meyer in the Baptist Church of Brisben who survives. Also surviving is his son Leslie (Valerie) Crandall of Kissimmee, FL along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Beverly Rogers. A funeral service for Lewis will be held on Monday, November 4, at Noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Rachel Morse will officiate. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery of Oxford. Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 11-12.
