Loretta Badia

Loretta was born March 30, 1950 in Peekskill, New York to Robert and Loretta Travis. She attended Yorktown schools, where she met the love of her life, Frank Badia Jr., in high school. They wed on June 24, 1967 and have been inseparable since. Loretta spent her days as a homemaker, raising their 4 children. She most recently lived in Putnam Valley, New York, before moving with her husband to Norwich in 2006 after all the kids were grown. She was very proud of her home and her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Loretta enjoyed caring for her dogs. She had a love for nature and animals and enjoyed flowers, gardening, birdwatching from the deck, and feeding the deer that would visit the yard.

In addition to her husband, Loretta is survived by two sisters, Nancy Schnaars of Garrison and Jean Wood of Dover Plaines; a brother, Robert Travis of Putnam Valley; three sons, Frank III of Fishkill, Patrick of Salt Point, and Robert of Norwich; a daughter, Melissa DeAmicis of Buena Park, California; 6 grandchildren, and numerous other family.

A memorial service will be held at R.J Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich at 11:30am on January 2, 2021. Specific information will be provided by the family so that family and friends can attend. The family is asking that instead of flowers, donations be sent in Loretta’s honor to the Chenango SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
