Marvin R. Chase

Marvin Richard Chase passed away on September 8, 2022 with his family at his side. He was born on September 16, 1939. He married the love of his life, Linda Hoyt on December 31, 1966. They celebrated 55 years together. Other survivors include his children, Scott and Kathie Chase, Tamara and Richard Cobb, and Shawn Chase; his grandchildren, Christopher and Shirley Cobb, Kinsey Chase and Jeffrey Woodard, and Lauren Cobb and Enrique Gonzales; his great-grandson, Cameron Michael Cobb; his brothers and sisters, Russell Chase, Reita McClean, Dianne Pearl, Kathryn Davis, and William and Grace Chase; his foster sisters, Linda and Rudy Rinas, and Nancy Smith; his sisters in law, Mary Chase, and Amber Chase; a special nephew and niece, David and Shelly Burgess; as well as many other nieces and nephews. Marvin was predeceased by his grandson, Joshua Scott Chase; his parents, Claude and Jessie Chase; his in laws, Margaret and Homer Hoyt, and Betty Hoyt; his sister in law, Janice Blood; his sister, Elsie Lund; his brothers, Ernest Chase, Chester Chase, David Chase, and Larry Chase; and his foster sister, Beverly Jones.

Marvin served his country in the US Army at a duty station in Germany from 1959-1962. He was a 28 year employee of NYSEG, retiring on November 1, 2001.

A celebration of Marvin’s life will take place at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 10 W. Park Place, Norwich. There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service for Marvin will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 10 W. Park Place, Norwich, NY.
