Michael J. Sanner, 59, of Sherburne, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 18. He was born in Queens, NY and upon graduating from William E. Grady High School, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree and became a Master Electrician. Michael gave to his community by volunteering as a firefighter and paramedic for NYC Station 255 and Sherburne Station 28, receiving numerous awards and citations for his dedication. He also gave his time as a Boy Scout leader, having himself earned the Eagle Scout rank. Michael loved the outdoors, spending time at Daytona Speedway, collecting model trains and was always ready to play a joke. Most of all, Michael will be remembered as a devoted husband to his wife, Jolene, who survives. Also surviving are his four fur babies, Waffles, Dixie, Chronic, and Bella; his mother, Angela Sanner; his brother, Peter Sanner; his sisters, Carolyn and Kevin Flannery, and Donna and Gerald Kingston; his sisters in law, Judy Sanner, and Maria Sanner; three grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Felix Sanner, and his brothers, Dennis Sanner and Paul Sanner.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 25, at Magros Banquet Hall, 110 Sanitarium Rd. Sherburne. The family will receive friends at the banquet hall on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
