
Richard was born in Norwich on January 6, 1940 the son of Richard and Leila (Holiday) Mundy. He grew up in the South Plymouth and Norwich areas and attended the South Otselic School. He furthered his education by attending Utica College.
Richard worked as an Insurance Brooker for the Marsh-McLennan Inc. of Syracuse as a Sr. VP retiring after 23 years of service. Over the years he had lived in Rochester, Canandaigua, Hilton and Whitney Point.
In his spare time he enjoyed Skeet Shooting, camping, working in the out of doors especially with his garden and the farm in South Plymouth. In his later years he had also written his own autobiography. He had made his home in Florida for 10 years.
In 1975 in South Plymouth he married Carlyn (Karen Sue Strickland) Mundy who survives. Besides his wife Karen, Richard is survived by his children Richard (Janet) Mundy, Kimberly Mundy, Michael Mundy, Shelley (Chad) Cook, William (Melissa Mundy and Kristyn Mundy. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, his sister Joanne (Mike) Rangel and Uncle Lewis Holiday.
A private funeral service for Richard was held at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Howard officiated. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
