Bob was born on August 3, 1934 in Staten Island, NY the son of Victor and Evelyn (Harvez) Klang. He was a 1953 graduate of the Butler High School in New Jersey and following his education entered the United States Army where he served for 2 years until his honorable discharge. Bob had played football for the NY Titans which later became the NY Jets. In his later years he did carpenter work and operated his own logging business.
In the early 1960’s he moved to New York where he bought a farm on Plymouth Reservoir Hill. He made his home there over the years and in 1983 married Arlene Rose Armstrong who survives.
Bob had many trades in his life. He and Arlene catered for the American Legion for many years serving Friday night dinners. They also did a lot of catering for the American Legion doing many, many parties for the Legion including different organizations, weddings and private parties. Bob was also the manager at the New Berlin Golf Course for Dave VanPelt the owner at the time. He also loved gardening and working with his flowers.
Bob is survived by his wife Arlene of Norwich, Step-daughters Bonny and Dave Williams of Missouri, Brenda and Duke Smith of No. Pharsalia and Barbette and Dave Lawton of Oxford, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a niece Suzi (Gary) Burton, nephew Stephen (Inger) Stuart all of Deltona, FL along with great nieces, nephews, cousins and his loving dachshund Rosie which he loved very much.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Victor and Elizabeth as well as his sister Barbara Stuart.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at a later date at his home on Reservoir Hill.
