Rosalie Alger went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 7, 2019. She was born in Norwich on May 3, 1934 to the late Joseph and Amy Aloi. She spent most of her childhood living on Waite Street in Norwich and graduated from Norwich High School in 1952. Upon graduation, Rosalie spent three years employed by Bennett Ireland before her 35 year career with C&U Telephone as Executive Secretary to the president. Her favorite career memory was that she loved coordinating functions such as award dinners and golf tournaments. After retiring from the phone company, she was employed by the Chenango County Chamber of Commerce for three additional years before retiring permanently. Rosalie was involved in many organizations over the years including, Professional Secretaries Association, Big Brother/Big Sister, board member of “The Place” (a Christian Neighborhood Center), Lioness/Lions Club, a Notary Public, and was a very active member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a participant in bowling and golf leagues and was an organizer of many golf tournaments. Rosalie is survived by her children, Steve and his wife, Shelly Alger, of Norwich, Pam (Alger) and Duane Beilstein, of Greenville, PA, Lisa (Alger) and Bill Burdick, of Averill Park, NY; her grandchildren, Joe and Sara Alger, of Norwich, Stefanie and Joshua Bennett, of Norwich, Jordan and Haley Alger, of Norwich, Brandon Beilstein, and Kayla Beilstein, of Greenville, PA, Emma Burdick, and Nicholas Burdick, of Averill Park, NY, Jason and Laura Morris, of Norwich, and Joshua Morris, of Mt. Upton; her great-grandchildren, Beck, Azalynn, Brevin, Kinnon, Korbin, Madelyn, Jacob, Aiden, Lincoln, Leo, Max, and Marshall; her brother, John and Marcia Aloi, of Mt. Holly, NJ; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rosalie was predeceased by her twin sister, Marylie Cooley, her brother, Joseph Aloi, and her sister, Betty Aloi. A memorial service for Rosalie will take place at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 10, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
