Rosalyn was born on May 27, 1933 in Norwich the daughter of George and Minnie (Light) Hitchcock. She grew up in Norwich and was a graduate of the Norwich High School. On September 11, 1955 in Norwich she married William Beltz who passed away January 19, 2003. For many years Rosalyn had worked in the cafeteria at Gibson School.
Rosalyn was a longtime and active member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich where she taught Sunday school and was active with the FAHOLO group of the church. She had also served as a Den Mother for the local Cub Scouts, enjoyed going on camping trips and had knitted countless pairs of mittens for family and friends. Rosalyn was also a longtime 4-H leader teaching many young people the life skills they would need as they became adults. Above all else Rosalyn adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren with who she enjoyed many great times.
Rosalyn is survived by her children June (Stanley) Kata of Endicott, Mark (Linda) Beltz of Woodstock, Ill., Paul (Karolyn) Beltz of Norwich and Joan (Len) Brooks also of Norwich and her brother George Hitchcock of Norwich. Also surviving are her 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband William, Rosalyn was predeceased by her son Bruce Beltz and her sister Louise Hitchcock.
A private funeral service for Rosalyn will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
