
Shirley was born on March 2, 1926 in Greene the daughter of Glenn and Minnie (Vroman) Dunham. She grew up in Greene where she attended the Greene school graduating with the CLASS of 1942. Following her graduation she gained employment with what was the Scintilla now Amphenol in Sidney. On December 30, 1943 in Tampa, FL she married Lewis Crandall who passed away in 1981. During WWII they made their home in Florida until Lewis had to go to Europe as a pilot. Following his discharge he returned to the states and made their home in No. Norwich.
Shirley had been employed by the Evening Sun for a period of 41 years retiring in 1991 as an Administrative Asst. She was a longtime member of the North Norwich United Methodist Church. She and the ladies of No. Norwich had a card club which would meet every Thursday. Shirley enjoyed knitting and crocheting for many years but most of all enjoyed her family and loved spending time at their cottage on Hatch Lake and the trips the whole family would take.
Shirley is survived by her sons James (Joann) Crandall of No. Norwich, Timothy (Kathleen) Crandall of Norwich, grandchildren James (Lisa) Crandall, Timothy (Kristen) Crandall Jr., Jennifer Crim and Brett (Eva) Crandall. Also surviving are 4 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a niece Carol Wood.
Besides her husband Lewis, Shirley was predeceased by her siblings Audrey Dunham, Wilma Young and Minerva Robbins.

A memorial service for Shirley will be held on Monday, July 25, at Noon from the North Norwich United Methodist Church. A private burial will be in the North Norwich Cemetery.
Friends may call at the North Norwich United Methodist Church on Monday from 11am until the time of the service at Noon.
