

Thelma was born in Norwich on March 6, 1940 the daughter of Ralph and Lola (Simpson) Carpenter. She attended school in Guilford and spent most of her life in the South New Berlin and Norwich areas. Over the years, while in Norwich, Thelma had been employed by the Norwich Shoe Co., Champion Products, Nor-Togs, Keith Clark and Wal-Mart.
Throughout her life Thelma had been an avid NASCAR fan a fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Yankees. She had the keen ability of talking about any sports related stats. In her quiet time she enjoyed her sewing and knitting.
Thelma is survived by her children Kelly West and companion Jim Lanfair, Heather (Justin) Hunt, Don Halstrom, Linda Halstrom and Michelle Halstrom, her grandchildren Harlie (Tyler) Sloan, Hunter Christian, Julia Ryan Como, Robert (Bert) Kuhn, RayLynne Kuhn, Landyn Hunt,and Harmony Hunt as well as a great grandchild Weston Grainger, her step-children Walt West, Ray West III and John West as well as several nieces, nephews and the fathers of her grandchildren Troy Christian and Jason Kuhn. She was predeceased by 5 of her siblings.
At Thelma’s request there will be no formal funeral services.
