Albert Dominic Pelaggi

PELAGGI, Albert "Dominic" 91, husband of 67 years to Florence Angelo Pelaggi of Wareham, formerly of Dedham, Mansfield and Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2018.

Born in Providence on February 22, 1927, he was the son of the late Albert Pio and Ann (Allegra) Pelaggi. Father of Paula Pelaggi and her husband Gerald Miller of Norwood, Wayne Pelaggi of Wrentham and the late Michael A. Pelaggi. Brother of Carmela (Pelaggi) Barnes of Brockton and Joseph Pelaggi of Whitman. Dear Grandfather of Nicole, Bret Anthony, John, Michael, Nicholas and Kathleen and six beautiful great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his devoted sister-in-law, Palma Coccia, his Godchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dom left Brockton High School during his senior year and joined the Navy during WWII. He was stationed on the USS Honolulu. In 1990, Brockton High School awarded him his diploma and thanked him for his service. Dom the plumber worked for Barile Plumbing of Braintree and Provost Plumbing of Dedham. In 1964, he became a journeyman plumber and joined Boston Union Local 12. An accomplished accordion player, Dom played on public radio during the war. He spent many hours entertaining family and friends through his gift of music. After his retirement, he and Florence spent 25 winters in Englewood, Florida and summers in Wareham. An avid fisherman, he and his brother-in-law, Frank Coccia, and friends enjoyed stripe bass fishing. Dom loved his family, organic gardening, his accordion and his gorgeous mimosa trees.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Veterans Administrative Hospitals and Wareham Hospice for their kind care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oncology Department of the Jamaica Plain VA Medical Center, 150 S. Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.

At the request of the family, all funeral services were private.
