Allen D. Garrels, Sr.

Allen D. Garrels, Sr. age 85 of Norwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday September 29, 2023.

Born in Sioux City, Iowa he was the son of the late William and Henrietta Garrels. Allen attended local schools, and was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked for over 25 years as a supervisor with Honeywell.

Allen was the beloved husband of 58 years of Lois A. (Altobello) Garrels, and the devoted father of Allen D. Garrels, Jr. and his wife Paula of Brockton, Scott Garrels and his wife Stacie of Stoughton, Michael Garrels of Franklin, and Glenn Garrels of Lynwood NJ. He was the brother of Lavonne Boege of IA, and the late Larry Garrels and Donna Roberts. Allen was the proud grandfather of Eric, Andrew, Neala, Stephen, James, Leah, Emily, and Jake Garrels.

Funeral Service in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Friday October 6 at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting Hours in the Funeral Home on Friday from 9-11 AM only.
