OBITUARY

Andrea Pappas

Andrea (Bellou) Pappas, age 93, of Norwood passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 18, 2019.

Born in Tsamanta, Greece, the daughter of the late Andreas and Demetroula Bellou. Beloved wife of the late Harry Pappas; devoted mother of James Pappas and his wife Charlotte of West Roxbury, Angelina Iatrou and her husband Jimmy of Rhode Island; loving sister of Ellie Stavrou, the late Elleni and the late Sotiri; cherished grandmother “Yiayia” of Aimee, Jon, Kate, Georgia and Andi; proud great grandmother of Mollie and Benjamin. She is also survived by extended family in Greece.

She was raised and educated in Greece, immigrating to the United States with her husband in 1954. They resided in Worcester for many years, later moving to Walpole before settling in Norwood in the early 70’s. She was a member of St. Nectarios Church and took pride in celebrating the Greek Orthodox Easter with her family. Mrs. Pappas enjoyed traveling to Greece, gardening, cooking, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 22nd at 10:30 AM, at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 39 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Norwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Andrea’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
