Ann Abely

ABELY, Ann (McGovern), age 93 of Wallingford CT, and formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Terrence and Ann (Lenox) McGovern. Ann was a graduate of Norwood High School with the class of 1950. She was married to Richard Abely at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in 1956. Richard passed away in 2001. Ann worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life and retired in 2004 as controller of H. Pearce Realtors.

Ann was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Abely, and the devoted mother of Stephen and his wife Denise, Jim and his wife Stacey, Brian and his wife Charleen, Chris and his wife Dawn. She was the proud grandmother of Mathew, Nathan, Therese, Richard, Janet, Andrew, Dylan, Tyler, Mckenzie and Sasha, and the late Colter and John. She was the Great Grandmother of Olivia, Eric, Liam, Max, Adora, Henry, Caroline and Madaline

Funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD, on Saturday November 22, at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Parish at 10 AM. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
