A Tribute to Charles Burke
We honor the memory of Charles Burke, a cherished member of the Rosemary Home community for more than fifteen years, with profound sadness. During my time working alongside Charlie, as we affectionately knew him, I came to understand a fundamental truth: his challenges never defined him. Instead, his gentle kindness, his dedication to meaningful routines, his genuine love of life's simple pleasures, and the quiet joy he consistently brought to those around him revealed his true character. Charlie's deep passion for music, particularly Old School classics, became the foundation of our most meaningful connection. Our ritual van rides, filled with his favorite songs and culminating in a melody we both knew would move him to sing, became a testament to the power of shared moments and authentic human connection. 

Through my relationship with Charlie, I learned invaluable lessons: the virtue of patience, the profound significance of life's smallest moments, and, most importantly, the boundless power of love expressed without words. His quiet presence taught me that dignity and joy are not contingent upon circumstances but rather emerge from how we choose to show up for one another each day. 

To Charlie's family, we extend our deepest gratitude for entrusting us with his care and allowing us to be part of his life. He was deeply loved, and he will be profoundly missed. In honor of Charlie's legacy, we commit ourselves to treating every person with unwavering dignity, to cultivating joy in our daily lives, and to demonstrating consistent kindness in all our endeavors. In Loving Memory of Charles  Burke

It was a true privilege and blessing to serve as Charlie Burke’s case manager for nearly three years at the Charles River Center. During that time, I came to know Charlie as a gentle and joyful soul who appreciated life’s simple pleasures.

Charlie loved FaceTiming with his sister, listening as she read stories to him, and praying with her. He especially loved the Lord’s Prayer, which brought him comfort and reflected the faith he carried in his heart. He also enjoyed watching The Three Stooges, going to the cinema, taking peaceful walks in the park, and visiting Dunkin’ Donuts.

Our trips to Dunkin’ became some of my most treasured memories with Charlie. I feel especially grateful that I was able to take him there one final time during the very week he passed away. I will always cherish that last outing and the many wonderful moments we shared.

Charlie will be greatly missed, but his memory will remain in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing and caring for him. May the Lord welcome him into His eternal presence, where there is no more pain or sorrow, but everlasting peace and joy.

Rest peacefully, Charlie. Until we meet again.

In Loving Memory of  Dear Charlie
Charlie was truly one of a kind. He had a special way of bringing joy to the people around him, and his smile and laughter will always hold a place in our hearts.
He loved watching The Three Stooges, Movies, enjoying a good plate of spaghetti and meatballs,  and, most of all, reading and traveling with his sister, Lainie. Those simple pleasures brought Charlie so much happiness.
Charlie may have experienced the world differently, but he had so much love to give. He taught us that happiness can be found in the simplest moments—a favorite meal or movie, walking enjoying nature, his love of dogs, the ocean, and mostly the comfort of his family.
I will always remember Charlie for his sweet spirit, his laughter, and the happiness he brought into our family. He will be deeply missed, but the memories we made with him will remain in our hearts forever.
Rest peacefully, Charlie. You were loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten. ❤️ Love Your Cousin Ann & Family

Every time I went over to Burks house in Norwood to see Charlies brother Michael, Charlie would outside walking near the house and he always knew if Mike was home.  He always greeted me with my name "Eddie Pitman" and then I would ask if Mike was home and he always knew if Mike was in or out.  Charlie was a nice kid, I remember him as a brother.
God will have a special place in heaven for Charlie.
