Colleen Mary Creedon May RN

Colleen M. (Creedon) May, 84, R.N., a 40 year resident of Norwood, formerly of Dorchester, Sunday, May 11, in Walpole. Born in Bingham Canyon, Utah on May 28, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Blanche(Marriott) Creedon, she was the beloved wife of 62 years of William H. May of Norwood, the loving mother of Susan and her husband Doug Carlson of Clifton, VA, the late Michael May and his widow, Susan Lebbossiere of Braintree, William “Willy” May of Salt Lake City, UT, John May and his wife, Laura of Foxboro, Marianne Walter of Norwood, Christopher May of Dedham; the dear sister of Patsy Massa, Michael Ann Scroggin, and Mary Coleman, all of Utah, the cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and the aunt of several nieces and nephews. Colleen was a Registered Nurse and received her training at St. Benedict’s Hospital in Ogden Utah where she worked for several years . She then worked for Norwood Hospital for 22 years until her retirement in 1993. Colleen was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Norwood and a former member of St. Matthew Church and its Sodality in Dorchester . Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, at 9:00 AM at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St. , Norwood. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Colleen’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St. , Norwood, MA 02062.
