David Robert Jones

August 11, 1957November 17, 2020

David Robert Jones, 63, of Norwood, passed away on November 17, 2020. Born August 11, 1957 to Alvin and Patricia (Woodward) Jones of Norwood, MA. He was a graduate of Norwood High School where he was a member of the swim team. David served honorably in the US Navy from August 12th 1975 to 1981 and worked in the fields of electronics and coding for most of his life.

David is survived by his loving sweetheart, Millie Gulinello of Norwood. He was the oldest of six siblings: the late Steven Jones and his wife Karen Sennett of Wisconsin, Robert Jones and his wife Marcie of Mansfield, MA, Michael Jones and his wife Kimberly of Campton, NH, Patricia Jones Hubbert and her late husband Ted Hubbert of Jacksonville, OR, and Julie Jones Roche and her husband Sean of Milton, MA. He was a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He looked forward to and never missed an opportunity to gather with family, and kept up close and affectionate relationships with his many cousins, aunts and uncles on both the Jones and Woodward sides of his family.

Dave loved to engage with people on politics and current events, and share his thoughts about the Pats and the Red Sox to anyone who would listen. No one enjoyed a good meal more than David, and he would trade stories about cooking, food and recipes for as long as anyone would listen. He was devoted to his Millie, his extended family, and his friends both old and new. Together with Millie he found strength and companionship from his fellowship with Friends of Bill and they generously mentored people in need. He had a lifelong passion for music and loved the peace sign and everything it represents. He spent many evenings sitting at the table, relishing good food in the company of old friends and family. He enjoyed entertaining his nieces and nephews and cousins with silly stories and quirky jokes, and especially dancing in the kitchen with Millie. He will be sorely missed.

A Memorial Service will be held privately. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s honor to the American Kidney Fund.

Millie, so sorry for your loss. David was a special friend of mine as he was to so many people. When I first met David I thought what a tough guy. Nothing could be further from the truth, his heart runneth over with compassion and love. I will miss him and pray he is at peace.

Healing Love to Millie, Julie, Patti, Mike and Ralph
Remembering Steve, Pat and Skip

And to my friend David from another Dave we both know

So we will share this road we walk
And mind our mouths and beware our talk
'Til peace we find, tell you what I'll do
All the things I own I will share with you
And, if I feel tomorrow like I feel today
We'll take what we want and give the rest away
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two, we are one
