Dennis Drapeau lost his battle with Parkinson's Disease on Monday January 9th at his home in Norwood after a long and painful battle with Parkinson's and Diabetes. He was 55 years young. He is survived by his brother Robert of Hong Kong and Robert's wife Jocelyn of Malaysia, and their two children; Mei Xi Drapeau 14, and Jonathan Drapeau 16.
Dennis was born on February 25th, 1961 to Robert B Drapeau Sr. and Theresa Drapeau, both deceased. He graduated from Boston English High School in 1978. He went on to work for Ogden Security, Hyde Athletic Industries, Somerville Lumber and later had an 18 year career at Home Depot. Dennis spent a great deal of his adult life caring for his mother until her passing in 2011, thus sacrificing plans to start his own family.
He continued to work on a part time basis even as Parkinson's ravaged his body. Home Depot dedicated much of their resources to accomodate his needs and as a result of their support, perhaps added years to his life.
His interment will be private. All friends, relatives and former colleagues are encouraged to make a generous donation in memory of Dennis Drapeau to The American Parkinson's Disease Association, Massachusetts chapter. www.apdama.org
May your donations help to provide a cure for this disease that took yet another great human being much too early.
Arrangements under the direction of Gillooly Funeral Home, Norwood, MA.
