Douglas spent his childhood in Brewster before moving to Hyde Park and eventually Dedham where he graduated from Dedham High School. After high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps before transferring to the Air Force. After his discharge from the Air Force he enrolled at Dean Junior College in Franklin where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree. Douglas worked as a Plant Supervisor at Northrop Corp in Norwood for many years before taking a job in the maintenance department at the Cleveland School in Norwood, where he worked for over 15 years. In his spare time, Douglas collected stamps and enjoyed watching all of the New England sports team especially the Red Sox. Beloved husband of Barbara (Riley) Hooper. Loving father of Doug Hooper of Norwood. Cherished grandfather of Aidan Hooper and Ryan Hooper. Devoted brother of Ardis Hooper of Millis and the late Arlene Hooper.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood on Wednesday, February 19 from 10:00AM-12:00PM followed a funeral home service at 12Noon. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Douglas’s name to Grace Episcopal Church, 150 Chapel St, Norwood, MA 02062.
