Evelyn B. Kearney

Evelyn B. (McLaughlin) Kearney of Cumberland RI and formerly of Norwood and Jamaica Plain, passed away on Thursday June 29, 2023 at age 92.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Louise (Brown) McLaughlin. Evelyn attended Boston public schools, graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She worked as an Accounting Secretary for the City of Boston for many years. She later worked at Osco’s in Norwood. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating, gardening, sewing, knitting, embroidery, reading and spending time with family at the lake in New Hampshire.

Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Charles Kearney, and the devoted mother of Evelyn Fahey of Cumberland RI, and her late husband John Callaghan, Louise Maloney and her husband John of Chester CT, Liz Kearney-Lang and her husband Fred of Billerica, and the late Charles F. “Chuck” Kearney. She was the sister of the late Louise Persico, Marilyn Sterling, Daniel McLaughlin, and Janet Joyce, and the proud grandmother of Eric and his wife Rachael, Chris and his wife Melissa, Dan and his wife Kat Fahey, Erica Lang -Tirrell and her husband Brendan, Corey Lang and his fiancé Cassie and her sons Dylan and Jordan, and Devin Maloney, and great-grandmother of Hailey and Harper Tirrell, and Evie and Charleigh Fahey. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews

Funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, NORWOOD on Saturday July 8, at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Timothy Church, Norwood at 10:30 AM. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 PM.
