

KUPHAL, Evelyn M. (Cooper) 93, of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025.
Beloved wife of the late Charles A. Kuphal and mother of the late Charles E. Kuphal and his wife Gloria of Haverhill. She is survived by her children Richard L. Kuphal and his husband James Cook of Magnolia, Cheryl A. MacIntire and her husband Bruce of Mashpee, David T. Kuphal and his wife Susan of Millis, Ronald P. Kuphal and his wife Denise of East Longmeadow, John F. Kuphal of Randolph, Kevin R. Kuphal and his wife Charlene of Millbury, Gary C. Kuphal and his wife Remi of Franklin. Proud grandmother of Allison and her husband Mark, Sarah and her husband Scott, Amy, Joshua and his wife Kristi, Stacy, Christine, Laura, Jackson, Nathan, Madison and Jason; Doting great grandmother of Cameron, Parker, Charles, Kallie, Trevor, Bodhi and River.
Evelyn was born on October 26, 1931, in Boston, daughter of Mildred and Harry Cooper. She was raised in Roslindale and a graduate of Roslindale High School. After graduation, Evelyn worked at the New England Telephone Company.
Married in 1953, Evelyn and Charles moved to Norwood in 1961 to raise their family. Evelyn was always very active in the community, running events for the Winslow School PTO. She was a member of Friends of Norwood C.O.A. and the Norwood Emblem Club. Well-known at the Senior Center, Evelyn organized the Handcrafters knitting club. Over the years the club was able to provide hundreds of hats, scarves and mittens for Norwood schools, as well as prayer shawls to veterans hospitals. With a lifelong passion for knitting and crocheting, her skills at needlework were renowned.
Evelyn also enjoyed game shows, bingo, trips to the casino with family, reading and spoiling her grandchildren. She was dedicated to her family and possessed a quick wit that will be missed.
A Visitation will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Saturday March 15, 2025 from 8:30-9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 547 Washington Street, Norwood at 10 o'clock. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
