Evelyn Sanphy

SANPHY, Evelyn (LaCroix), 92 of Canton formerly of Norwood died Feb. 17, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born in Fall River on Sept. 27, 1918 she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Angelina (Vadeboncoeur) LaCroix. Evelyn lived in Norwood for 26 years before moving to Canton in 1976. Evelyn was employed by Plimpton Press Co. for 13 years until she retired. Being the very energetic and fun loving person she was, she spent many wonderful years enjoying her grandchildren. Devoted wife of the late John J. Sanphy Sr. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Jayne and her husband Paul Harish and their children PJ, Jason and Lisa, daughter Joanne and her husband Bob Barlow and their daughters Tracey, Kristina and Kellie, daughter Janice Hughes and son Jay Sanphy; five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild her sister Rita Peterson and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son John J. Sanphy Jr. and daughters Jeanne Arbuckle and Jacqueline Sanphy and her sister Lillian Newbold. Funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD Tues. Feb. 22 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home prior to the Mass on Tues. 8:30 – 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to the Norfolk Adult Day Health Center, 595 Pleasant Street, Norwood, MA 02062.
