Born July 5, 1937 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Katherine (Linnane) and Terrence Geoghegan.
She had a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a master’s degree in counseling from Lesley University and a lifelong love of learning. Frances worked a substance abuse counselor for many years including time at NORCAP Lodge in Foxborough. She later became an LPN working at group homes on Cape Cod. She loved reading and spending time at the beach. Frances is a former resident of Walpole, Falmouth Martha’s Vineyard and Brookline.
She leaves her four daughters, Donna and her husband Frank Whitehead of Plainville, Katherine and her husband, Anthony Cordray of West Tisbury, Lynda and her husband Richard Hinkson, Jr. of Norwood, and Mary Byrne and her husband Mark Hinderle of Charlestown; her grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Max, Victoria, Anna and Elizabeth and her sisters, Mary Doiron and Marguerite Geoghegan, both of Brockton, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also sister to the late Terrence Geoghegan.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
