

James Patrick "Jim" Conley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 25, 2025 in Norwood, Massachusetts, at the age of 86.
Jim was born in 1938, in Norwood, and spent his life residing and working in Norwood, where he also raised his family. He graduated from Norwood High School in 1956 and attended Northeastern University, studying Business. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Margueritte Lucy del’Etoile, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, travel, and countless cherished memories while raising six children together.
Jim’s greatest pride in life was his family whom he loved very much. Jim is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Margueritte, his son William, his brother Charles (aka Ginch), and parents Emily and Patrick Conley.
He is survived by his children; James Conley and his wife MariElena of Norwood, Kathleen Conley and her husband Jeffrey of Taunton, Jane Perno and her husband Kevin of Bellingham, Kevin Conley and his wife Karen of Wayne, Maine and Marjorie Baker and her husband Charles of Hopkinton.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren

Others left to cherish Jim’s memory are his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, fellow marines, and many friends and colleagues.
In addition to raising his family, Jim was a Marine and a retiree from Dresser Industries (formerly Masoneilan) where he worked for his entire career. In his retirement he enjoyed working the voting polls in Norwood as well as many volunteering opportunities such as the Boston Marathon.
Throughout his entire life, but more so during retirement Jim enjoyed traveling with his wife, children, relatives, and friends.
Jim and Margueritte’s, “happy place” was Brownfield Maine where they resided seasonally. They would make the three hour trek, holding hands and singing country songs all the way to “Grammy’s House in the Woods.”
Jim will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visiting Hours in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Monday August 4, from 10 AM - 12 PM, with a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home at 12 o'clock. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
