

Of Franklin, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 14 2023 at age 68. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late James Vincent Quinn and Marion (O’Connor) Coppa.
James attended school in New York. He served a four year term in the United States Navy as a hydraulic mechanic and directed aircraft on the deck of the USS CARL VINSON CVN 70 as a boatswain’s mate (yellow shirt). Jimmy was part of the maiden voyage of the USS CARL VINSON CVN 70 in 1983 and she’s still in service today, 40 years later. The original Top Gun movie filmed segments on board the USS CARL VINSON during James’ tenure. After military life, Jimmy worked as a 2nd Class Fireman for the Frank I. Rounds Company. He loved the outdoors, especially going to Nantasket beach. He was a history buff and an avid Patriots and Nascar fan. Above all, Jimmy was a man who fiercely loved his family.
James was the beloved husband of Paula C. (Antonellis) Quinn, married for 40 years. He was the devoted father of Andrew Quinn and his fiancée, Kerri Taggart of Franklin, Lauren and her husband, Joshua Lacouture of Brockton, Megan Quinn of Stoughton, and Kylee and her husband, Christopher Chase of Hopedale. He was the brother of the late Raymond, Dennis, and Patrick Quinn. James was the proud grandfather of Anthony, Andrew Jr., Grace, Emma, Gabriella, Cody, Charlotte, Jaxson, Madison, Christopher, and Luca. He is also survived by a large extended family.
A Graveside Service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park, 321 High Street, CANTON on Thursday June 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to attend. Funeral arrangements were made with Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood 02062.
