Mr Barker was a gifted teacher who taught me to think and to question (in Ethics class) all with an amazing humorous spirit that I will never forget!
My deepest sympathy to his family and close friends.

Mr. Barker was a great teacher during my time at Cardinal Spellman. It is such a shock to learn of his passing. His sense of humor, passion for teaching, and his lessons will never be forgotten.

Jerry - very sorry to hear of your passing - you were one of those fun-loving, free-spirited people who made it a pleasure to teach at Spellman back in the 80's - lots of great laughs !!

I had Mr. Barker at Cardinal Spellman High School back in the 80's and I remember him challenging us all to think. He definitely had a big impact on getting me to be more open-minded and tolerant. Thank you for that.

Mr. Barker,

You delivered History and Ethics with humor and intelligence and taught so many of us how to think for ourselves and what issues were of true importance. With your example and the example of other great teachers I had, it was an easy decision to become a teacher myself. You are missed.
